My first post with windows live writer, (ignore the last email because it wasn’t me)

Hey you guys,
Steve here.

This is my first post with windows live writer–can’t believe it!

So, I recently downloaded a cool application on my computer called windows live writer. This lets you hook up to your blog or create a windows live blog and write to it, create pages, and lots of cool stuff like that. I heard this program is also good for blogging on the go, but then again so is word press.com itself.
There is one good thing to this however; it allows spell check, which for blogs like mine can be pretty useful.
While I’m on this post, let me give you a little life/podcast update:

First of all, I learned this before last post, but forgot about it. I am going to the Calendar lake house with my papa Dutch and Nana, and part of that side of the family for 4th of July. I don’t know what we are going to be doing there, but I will blog and talk about it. On another note, though related to what I just said, my friend Devon might be joining us. This isn’t the computer geek devin whom I created the website for last week and went to tsb, but a different one who plays goal ball with me. Since goal ball season is over, I don’t get to see him much, but hopefully he can come to the lake house with us.
We are going on Thursday after picking Libby up from Austin (can we leave that part out? JK). We should then get there after about 4, and I don’t know what we’ll do for the remainder of the day and Friday. We will be returning home on Friday evening.

As far as the weather goes, let’s hope that it doesn’t storm. There is a small chance of storms Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. I don’t care if it storms Saturday (sorry for the people that have plans, I care if those get rained out). If it rains July 7, I won’t have to worry–I’ll be on my way to camp then.
On another note, I found another blog you should visit: www.camaro76.wordpress.com, the website of a friend of mine named Wyatt Rose. Since I don’t know if he wants strangers talking to him, I will not disclose any contact info–I’ll leave that up to him.

On one last note, sorry to those people who received email notification about a “temporary” post, that was when I set up windows live writer, and it did a test post. Sorry!

Thanks for reading,
type you later,
Steve.

updates and future plans

my cat hacks up a hairball, a wasp gets in my house, my dad takes me on a bike ride, and my mom takes me swimming, find out how this all went down, and how I got my cat to be okay again, it's pretty intresting!

Hey you guys,
Steve again.

I’ve had a pretty good week so far. Unfortunately, there wasn’t anything worth blogging about until today, when 2 rather not fun things popped up and I did something else besides relaxing last night.

So yeah, all I did was relax sunday, monday, tuesday, and for the most part of wednesday. 2 of those mornings, I stayed up until 2:30 and 3:30 playing my game, swamp. By the way, I just so happen to be a level 14 on the game, and found out the game has graphics.
Here are the graphics that I know:
green-grass
brown-durt
a moving t is a zombie and the purple sircle is you.
On another note, let’s talk about yesterday and this morning.
First, I went swimming at my grandparents’ house for about 4:30 to 9. It was pretty fun–I swam, ate chicken and fried potatos, and had a nice long conversation with my papa Dutch about space, weather, and just random stuff. Since he was an air traffic controller, I guess he knows about that stuff. He even told me that the speed of sound was 756 knots.
Well, after that fun little evening, I came home and the nasty thing happened.
My dad came home around 11, let my cat in, and he started hacking. me and dad thought he was hocking up a hairball, and sure enough it stopped. When he came in however, he sat in the middle of the floor like he wasn’t feeling good. It’s not like my cat to just sit there in the middle of the floor like that, so I picked him up and brought him to my bed. There, he started the hacking again, and I did something I’m sure noone I know would ever do to save there life–I squeezed him. I was actually glad to have to clean that up, because I knew my cat was done hacking. I mean, he’d been doing it for an hour, so I knew I had to help him get it out so he could propperly meow and purr again.
So, thanks to me, he’s normal this morning…and feeling well.

The next thing that happened was the 4th wasp in my house. It watched over me while I was eating, until dad killed it.

Other than that, me and dad went on another bike ride this morning, and ran a few errands and hung out. For the rest of the day, I just plan to hang out with good ol’ dad and maybe go to my friends (I don’t know, just about a 30% chance).
For further future plans, I don’t know what I will do tomorrow, probably the same things as today, and Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, I really don’t know what I will do. Thursday, we might go to the lake for the 4th of July, and we’ll still be there on Friday. Saturday July 6, I will definantly blog, because you won’t get to read my awesome award winning blog posts for a whole 5 or even 6 days!

Last, I will try to do a video recording of me playing swamp, and it will also be audio. Hopefully I can include music… I don’t know when that will happen or even if it will. I will for sure edit this post when I record that, so read back on it often.

Thanks for reading,

podcast and updates

Hello guys,
steve here again.
Before I start the post, I would like to welcome my 6 latest followers! Thanks guys!
I’ve released my podcast today!
As you probably know, I didn’t release my podcast last night. For one, I just got home from tsb, and for 2 the guest (I just planned for him to be in the cast) wasn’t available. So, I posted it today. Another thing, I posted episode 4, the one from june first. I didn’t know I actually had a working version, so I will talk about my latest episode as if it was episode 4, all though it really wasn’t. I hope you enjoy the podcasts!
On another note, here is some stuff I learned at tsb at the space weather class:
1. Did you know that during august 1972, during the apollo space mission, a huge solar storm hit. If those people had been on the moon at the time, they would’ve died of radiation poison.
2. Did you know that we had a solar event Thursday night, and if you were in alaska you would’ve seen the green glow?
3. did you know that light travels at 186000 miles per second which is also 669600000 miles per hour!
4. Did you know that all though the earth spins at 1000 miles per hour at the equator, it spins at 866 miles per hour in austin texas?
5. Did you know that in the event of a solar flair, it can cause a electric blackout on earth’s power grids?
6. Did you know that the surface temperature of the sun is only 6000 degrees, but the core is 14 milion?
7. Did you know that on April 13, 2029, a huge asteroid will come within 33000 miles of earth.
8. Did you know that some of the static noise we here on a shortwave radio is the sun and Jupiter?
9. Did you know that the waves of fm radio go through the ionosphere, and that we can only here them up to 100 miles away?
10. AM radio waves bounce off the ionosphere, and especially at night, we can here them from real far away.
11. Did you know that when the dinosaur killing asteroid sent so much dust into orbit around the earth, that it caused a period of over a year with absolutely no light, stopping all photosynthesis and vegetation growth, also killing half the species on earth back then?
Those are just some of the intresting facts I learned about in the space program.
On another note, if you want to know about Thursday and friday for me, we went to the movies on thursday night, and I sat by Devin and watched the man of steel, Superman.
On friday, the drive home ended up taking over 3.5 hours!
Finally, on a final note, I must tell you all the things we made this week at space weather camp in austin.
1. a paper sundile
2. we took a picture of the sun with sunspots and raised it up so I could feel it.
3. We made a read out chart from the supersid solar antenna, which detected the solar event from Thursday night. I even got to feel the read out!

Well, I hope this post was both intresting, informing, and fun for you to read!

Thanks for reading,

steve.
P.S. Don’t forget to check out my friend’s website (I helped him make it over skype and the website setup page of this blog). It’s www.devinsplace.wordpress.com. Thankyou!

updates left out from last night’s post

Hey you guys,
Steve again.

I know I posted to the blog yesterday, but I have a couple things to tell you that I forgot to mencion in the last post.
For one, I forgot to tell you guys about my new computer battery. I was reading updates and excuses, and it talked about the computer unplugging and me losing all my work. Well, I forgot to tell you that I got my battery on June 4th. It actually came in on the 3rd, but my mom came up with the idea of putting it on the table so I could find it in the morning. I actually like that idea, (there is nothing like an awesome surprise to get you going). Unfortunately, I never figured it out until the afternoon. I picked up and shook the box in the morning, asked dad what it was and he said it was something for mom, and let my curiosity build all day at school. By the time I got home, it was unbearable. So, I ripped the box open, put the battery in, and found it was charged to 78% already.
Another thing, is that podcast. I am going to go ahead and release it on Friday june 21, the day I come back from austin. Don’t worry, since the computer won’t die when unplugged, I won’t have to be stressed about a disaster happening like it coming unplugged or the battery failing or something. If you want a preview, here it is:

1. I will talk about the weather. In fact, as of now, I myself am intrested to know how the weather will be where I live, seen as how I am in Austin at the moment.
2. I will tell you all about my trip, the whole week!
3. I will then present the game of the day, swamp. Here, I will o a custom map adventure so you know what it sounds like.

One final thing, I will get to be without a sister for 2 weeks! That is pretty awesome, don’t you think? (the question above doesn’t apply to my mom, because she’ll say no).

So, until next time, I hope you had a fun time reading this post! I can’t wait for the podcast, and to post more updates.

sumarised update and game released

Hey you guys,
Steve again.

Woe… finally back blogging, huh?

So, as you know, summer break has started for me. In fact, it started 12 days ago, meaning I haven’t blogged in 2 weeks and 1 day. Haven’t you all missed my awesome posts? Oh yeah, and another thing to say. Remember I said stranded was to be released on June 8? Well I bet I ment to put a 1 before that 8, because it’s being released on June 18 instead of june 8. So, I will give you that game, before talking about my life.

stranded

So, as you should know, I am going to put the link before the story summary of the game. So, here it is: download the awesome game now. Now, for the story.

After waking up on a misterious platform in the middle of noware in this weird place, you must find your way through this game. As the title says, your objective is to fight and defeat the boss, who might seem a harmless mouse but isn’t one after all. In this game, you will encounter 2 elusive creatures–a cat that looks very violent and weird, but could actually be of some help, and the boss of course. After you defeat the boss, you will find out something you’ve wanted to know for a while now. You will find that out at the very end, but why should I spoil it for you? That’s right, I shouldn’t.

I hope you enjoy! Just make sure you hurry over to the gamebooks page and play stranded part 1 if you haven’t done so already.

life summary

Now, on to the life events.
My life has gone pretty well since June 3rd, because of tiger reward camp which turned out awesome, and then summer break. The strange thing was the fact that it didn’t set in for me that it was summer until the first monday we were off, because the way the school year ended for me. It ended with my dad picking me up early from school, nothing wrong with that just seeming something that might also happen in the middle of the school year. So, that’s why it took so long.
Otherwise, my last 2 weeks of summer have gone by pretty fast, because they were fun and stuff. One thing I forgot to mencion, is actually where I am now. I am at tsb once again (see the monthly archive for February because that was the last time I’ve been here), but this time I’m here for Catching Rays, a class all about solar weather. My teachers are pretty awesome, not to mencion everybody is my friend here. I even get to hang out with my computer geek friend, the only person I’ve been to more than 2 camps with. It is going to be a fun rest of the week–tomorrow we have a swim party, thursday a movie, and friday is going home. One thing we did in class is to make a SID solar wind antenna which has a computer that is round, light, and fits in the palm of your hand. It takes data it receives from solar blasts and CMEs and sends it to a sound card. I don’t remember much of the rest, but that you can put it in audacity (an audio editor) and here the frequency noises it makes. Also, it puts the data in a spread sheet.

On another note, if you’re wondering what I have planned for the summer, it is:
1. finish this tsb program
2. stay home for 2 weeks
3. go to lions club camp
4. stay home for 3 weeks
5. go to broken bow
6. go to maine
7. stay home until it’s gime to go back to school.

Well, I’m glad I got you caught up on the blog, and that stranded is finally out! I hope you enjoy!

Blog Update and a couple excuses

Hey you guys,
Steve again.

I can’t believe it, the last week of school is here!

As I’m sure you probably know, This post was called updates and excuses. The reason it had excuses in the title, was because for one, I’m not even close to done with stranded, and 2 I didn’t post the podcast.

As far as my new game goes, I am still in the beginning. It has 42 sections so far, but I want it to be a big game. Since I’m not as extremely addicted to swamp, I’ve began working more on it. In fact, You can find a forum newsroom for my game on the audiogames.net forum; the link is below:
go to the stranded newsroom
As you know, my reason for still being at the beginning is still the same:
1. I’ve been addicted to my game.
2. sometimes I think it would be too much work to finish it (but I will finish it anyway).
Now, on to the podcast.

I haven’t quite yet released the podcast to my website. Here’s why:
1. I recorded it, but my computer came unplugged and deleted it.
2. When I went to recover it in audacity (the audio editor I use), It pulled up some weird message and didn’t work.
3. After that I was unmotivated.

Don’t worry, I will re record that and get it on the site
Now, I told you I would record a thunderstorm on saturday, but nature ripped me off and it never stormed!!!

On to the life part

This weekend was a good one. I did however spend pretty much all of saturday waiting for a storm that didn’t come until 10:15 at night, and wasn’t big enough to record. I did however get a 5 minute recording of thunder claps. Comment below the post if you want the recording.
Other than that, my sister’s friend came over saturday night, so I just hung out playing swamp from about 10:30 to 12:300 midnight, after which I went to bed.
Sunday was a computer filled day. I logged on to swamp around 10 or so, and didn’t leave the computer until 1 30. By the way, 30 minutes of that time were spent on stranded. In case you don’t know, I can get a lot done on my gamebooks in 30 minutes, so I bet it will be done on Wednesday or so and I can begin packaging and getting ready for the big release.
Besides the 3 or so hour of playing on the computer, I didn’t do much else. I just briefly hung out with my sister and her friend, and chilled out. The only productive things I did were working on Stranded, doing the dishes and puttin gup my clothes.

As far as today goes, I still look forward to the last day of school. In fact, as of today, there are 3 days until the big day! Today is the last full day of school we’ll be doing work. I’m sure we’ll do some sort of work wednesday and thursday, but those are half days. Tomorrow, is the tiger bash or whatever they call it where you have lots of fun all day.

Thanks for reading,
Type you later,
steve.

P.S. I WILL GET THE PODCAST POSTED AND STRANDED WILL BE FINISHED ON TIME! I promice.
