Classes – Rules & Professionalism Agreement
Introduction
Thank you for choosing to learn with me! My primary goal is to provide a positive, effective, and enjoyable learning environment. Although this list of rules may seem extensive, it’s intended to cover potential issues so our classes can run smoothly.
1. Timeliness & Session Duration
- Punctuality: Please arrive (or log in) on time for your scheduled session. If you’re late, the session may still end at the originally planned time.
- Allotted Time: Except in cases of client tardiness, each session lasts for the amount of time agreed upon at the time of booking (e.g., 30 minutes, 1 hour, 2 hours). If you are late for the lesson as outlined above, you may be allotted less than the agreed upon time. Do not expect last-minute overtime.
- Booking & Cancellation Policy: All scheduling changes, refunds, and cancellations are governed by our separate Booking & Cancellation Policy. Please review it to understand any notice requirements and potential fees.
2. Attendance & Engagement
- Quiet Environment: Attend your class in a space free from excessive noise or frequent interruptions. This helps both of us stay focused.
- Stable Connection: A reliable internet or phone connection is necessary for effective communication. Persistent connection issues may require rescheduling or cancellation.
- Undivided Attention: Please avoid handling other tasks or multitasking during the session. Active participation is crucial for success. This rule exists with common sense in mind, however. Infrequent instances where you need the bathroom, a drink refill, or to let in a pet, for example, will not count against this rule.
- Unauthorized Guests: Only those who have booked (and paid, if applicable) for the session may attend. This ensures personalized attention and respects everyone’s investment in the learning process.
3. Homework & Preparation
- Homework Due: If I assign any practice or homework, it’s due at the start of your next session.
- Why It Matters: Homework helps reinforce the skills covered in class. If you skip it, you’ll miss out on extra practice and might need more in-class review.
- No Extra Fees: You won’t be charged extra for incomplete homework, but understand it may slow your progress or consume valuable class time repeating covered topics.
4. Language & Behavior
- Respectful Conduct: Offensive, harassing, or abusive language and attitudes are not tolerated.
- Substance Use: Attending class while noticeably intoxicated or under the influence of substances that impair your participation is strictly prohibited.
- Appropriate Use of Lessons: Classes must not be used to learn or facilitate illegal or amoral activities.
- Refusal of Service: I reserve the right to refuse or terminate service if a participant’s content, conduct, or goals are deemed inappropriate, unlawful, or unethical. Free make-up classes, full refunds, or partial refunds may not be provided in such cases.
5. Technical & Emergency Interruptions
- Instructor Interruptions: If I experience a power outage, network failure, or any emergency, I will reschedule the lost time at no extra cost to you.
- Client Interruptions: If you encounter connection loss or an emergency, please let me know as soon as possible. We’ll work together to decide whether to resume or reschedule based on the situation and availability.
- Chronic Issues: Repeated or long-term interruptions may lead to partial or full session cancellation, depending on severity and timing.
6. Consequences for Breaking Policies
- Non-Compliance: Repeated or serious violations of this agreement or the Booking & Cancellation Policy may result in early termination of a session or a block on future bookings.
- No Refunds for Violations: If a session is ended or canceled due to rule-breaking, a refund is typically not provided.
