Oh Shit!

What… is Oh Shit?

There is an audio game out there called Crazy Party, which consists of a card battling mode, and a mode wherein you can play in excess of 200 mini game trials, and even compete with your friends.
One of these mini game trials is called “Crystal Rain”, which features the pleasant experience of huge rocks falling from the sky that sometimes deposit little bonus items when they smash against the ground which you collect for points. However, get hit by a rock and the game is over!
Oh shit is an expansion on the Crystal Rain concept. In this survival mode collectathon, your goal is to see A, how long you can last and B, how many of the items you can grab.
However, there are not just rocks falling from the sky – nope, this is where the similarity to Crystal Rain stops. As the game progresses, a number of things will begin to happen:
-the playing field will grow ever larger.
-Cannons will spawn. These evil bastards shoot cannon balls at you, which you must jump over or be crushed.
-Pits will open up at random locations. Step in one of these, and you’re toast. Jump over them!
-The… er… crystal rain? It gets quicker and more intense. On the bright side though at least you can get more points that way… right?
The situation is not all hopeless, however. During the game, power-up items will sometimes fall from the sky. These can give you temporary invincibility from all dangers in the game, a temporary speed boost, an item that will permanently seal up one of the pits, and finally… perhaps seemingly not so good… a temporary curse that calls all the falling rocks to within just feet of your location, no matter where you run to! These power-ups will give you bonus points in addition to their benefits if picked up.
Also, when you inevitably die, Oh Shit provides a vast array of logging, statistical, and scoring options that allow you to track your progress and share it with the world, and you can be sure that a game will never be forgotten if you so wish! There’s even an online scoreboard where you can make your name known as a formidable Oh Shit player… or not!
Lastly are the unlockables. Oh shit has several badges, many of them humorous but several also good, that you can earn throughout your games. Not just that though, Oh Shit even has a mini game within itself that can be unlocked, that comes with its own scoreboard and set of statistics!

Cheat Code Enabled Version

I created a little standalone version of Oh Shit with several cheat codes to play with. I initially created it to have something funny to mess with on my podcast, but I then decided to release it by popular demand. The list of available cheats is included.

Sound mods

One of peoples’ favorite things to do is to modify the in-game sounds, and submit them to me. Below is a list of mods I have collected. Simply extract the zip archives and paste the sounds in your soh_shit\sounds folder, replacing the old ones, to use one of these packs.
DISCLAIMERS: I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR THE FILES IN THESE ARCHIVES. I WILL DO MY BEST TO CHECK THEM, BUT I DO NOT OWN THEM AND THEREFORE CANNOT CONTROL WHAT THEY ARE. THESE SHOULD ALL BE SOUNDS! DO NOT RUN ANY EXECUTABLE FILES IN THESE DIRECTORIES IF THERE ARE ANY!

Supporting the developer

Donate through Pay Pal

I have loved every second of Oh Shit development, and I have loved all of you guys playing it so far! I will never force you guys to pay to play the game. However, and don’t feel bad if you can’t, but if you can and are willing, could you please drop in a donation if you feel the game is worth it? Any amount big or small will help. I am currently in college, therefore money is tight, and any donation received will go to support me, future game development, or my podcast.
