Monday updates

Hey you guys,
Steve here.

Okay so I’m finally going to blog. I’m not going to put it off until later, as I’ve been doing since yesterday. I thought “Hmm, I’ll just blog Sunday night,” and when that didn’t happen I thought I’d do it this morning. Well I’m not going to tell you all the times I said I’d blog and didn’t, so let’s just be happy I’m finally at it.

The weather has been cool and rainy today, as is expected tomorrow and Wednesday. For some reason, I made the mistake of wearing shorts in today’s weather, as I did last week when it was forty five degrees.

#weathermanproblems

Wow, I can’t believe I just did that. Who puts hash tags on a blog?
Me that’s who.

Well let me get back to my blog update.
Also, the time change happened yesterday. It totally caught me off guard. The only thing that made me even realize that the time had changed in the first place was when I listened to the weather report and the time it gave was an hour behind my watch. One thing I really like about the daylight savings to standard time change is the fact that when I have to get up at 7:00 for school, my body actually thinks it’s 8. Since I usually get up at 8 or after on the weekends anyway, I was very refreshed and ready to go when I got up this morning.
Now, on to a very bizarre thing that happened yesterday morning. For some reason, both my mom and I had close to the same dream; both dreams had my cat Trashua dieing. Mine was that my mom and dad tricked me in to believing that Trashua was dead (they kept that up for three days). My mom’s dream was the more creepy one however. In her’s, Trashua actually died, but that’s not even the scarry part.
Our family (me, my mom and dad, I don’t think Libby was in that dream) went to this place where there were a lot of kittens. Of course I was beyond distraught; I had just lost my beloved cat and all. Well, for some reason, every time I’d go to leave that place, this orange cat with no tail would do a long meow and run towards me. Why is this creepy you ask? Well because Trashua is orange and has no tail… that’s why. So yeah I was pretty spooked after that one.
On to less scary and more happy things, we had the family get together yesterday. Everyone ended up staying until about 10:30. The thing was a blast, mainly since I got to pig out on mexican food all night and enjoy the company of my family. We also played the game catch phrase, but I ended up falling asleep because I got bored and was already tired in the first place.
Today, as I mentioned at the beginning of the post, today has been one of those rainy days. My o&m teacher, (orientation and mobility teacher) let me get a little (by that I mean large) double chocolate chip frappuccino from star bucks. I don’t know why I had to drink that so fast; I got 5 freaking brain freezes in about 10 minutes… but it was worth it.
Tomorrow and Wednesday, I have to go to school early in the morning (7:40) for orchestra rehearsals, because as you know I have a concert coming up on Thursday.
Well with that being said, I don’t have much more to say about life events. I will not even comment about the podcast, because I’ve ran out of excuses. 🙂
I will be able to get that done tomorrow or Wednesday, but Devin will not be in the casts since he’s at the school for the blind this week.

Thanks for reading,
type you later,
Steve.

Important Podcast Notice, and a Brief Life Update

Hey you guys,
Steve here.

As this post title said, I have a bit of important news about the Steven D Podcast.

First of all, the podcast will be renamed. Devin Gutirez has been helping me for so long that I think I will call the podcast Steven and Devin podcast from now on–he has contributed in a big way–helping me with game demos, and giving his word on 3 to 4 minute segments of the cast. He is very much my cohost of the cast, so I have decided to fully raise him up to this position. So devin if you’re reading this, congrats.
Also, the podcast has a new time and date–it will now be on the first and 3rd Saturday of the month. There is now a calender of podcast reliece dates on the podcast page for the next 3 months through January 1.

life

Moving on, the passed several days have gone quite well for me. On Sunday, I had to clean… (sadly). But afterward I logged into swamp and played.
Monday I spent practically the entire day on Skype with a couple friends, and also playing swamp. I wanted to become level 18 o swamp that day, but didn’t quite make it that far.
Yesterday was the first school day of the week, and after school I actually made level 18 on swamp!!!! In fact, I have earned 600 more xp since then.
note: I made a swamp campaign repository Monday night. The site is screpository.wordpress.com where I put all swamp campaigns; it already has 100 views! …can you say Great Website Devlaying it total!eloper (jk).
Oh and why I’m on the swamp topic, I have spent 3 days 3 hours and 30 minutes playing total… shocking, right?
Back on the life events, I also found a new flight simulater game for the blind, and am afraid I will get addicted to it. Unfortunately it costs money, so I’ll try to work my way up to getting to buy thatt.
Anyway, if you’re wondering what I’m doing in the future, I have church tonight, an open couple days with just school planned Thursday and Friday (I’m saying that assuming my parents haven’t planned something I don’t know about), and this weekend I only have goalball planned.

Well I hope you enjoyed this post, and look forward to new ones.

updates and a trip to Maine

Hey you guys,
Steve again.

I went on vacation again. Though I got home Wednesday, I just didn’t want to blog until right now, because of reasons you will find out later on in the post.

I should probably tell you how vacation went… huh?
So here it is.
We flew up on Tuesday afternoon, thankfully. It used to be that we flew up early (I’m talking get up at 3 in the morning and on the flight buy 7:30 early), but this year and even last year we didn’t. The trip was your average plain ride, not much to it. We got to Ocean park Maine around midnight eastern time, so there was no unpacking, or trips to the beach (read the archive for june 2012 to familiarize yourself with where we stay and all that stuff). So anyway, we just basicly went to bed. Wednesday was a beach day, so we hung out there all day pretty much. The water was too cold for me to swim in… they were saying it was in the lower 60’s but it felt like 40’s to me.
That night we had dinner with the family, and then we had pie night. That is a night where my grandma Potter cooks up all sorts of good pies, and everyone in the cottage enjoys them. After pie night, there wasn’t much to talk about. I just played on my computer and stuff while my sister, mom, dad, and a few other members of the family played a game called catch phrase.
Thursday and Friday were just lazy days because it rained. The biggest part of those days were at dinner time. Thursday we ate out and Friday we got to enjoy not 1 Maine lobster, but 2 each. Those things are so good… I’m sure you can’t get lobsters that good in texas no matter how hard you try.
Saturday was another good beach day. The water was so cold that day however, that putting your foot in there would feel as though you’d just put it in snow without any socks and shoes on.
Sunday was yet another beach day, but we spent half of it hanging out with 2 of our family members who were going to leave later that morning. They have 2 of the happiest most energetic kids I ever met, along with a little 7 month old who is relatively quiet and calm. For the rest of the day, we just kind of hung out, played cards, and tried to go to the beach at one point, but it was too cold.
Monday, we did go to the beach. This time, it was easy to believe that the water was in the 70’s because I was able to get in up to my stomach, and ride the currents of the creek that feeds in to the ocean. I made the most out of that day, because I knew we’d have to leave the next day.
That night for dinner we once again got to enjoy some lobster.
The next day, Tuesday, was the day we had to pack up and go home. Every thing was normal through the middle of the day, saying goodbye to family and packing, and even most of the travel was normal. However, our flight got delayed 30 minutes because of some rough weather, and we had a 45 minute layover before our next flight. Well since our first flight didn’t leave on time, we missed the second flight, and didn’t end up catching a flight back home until the next morning. Thankfully however, we got home by 10:45 yesterday morning.

Now on to some more life news.

Just because vacation is over with, doesn’t mean I am done with the post. Me and my dad were able to do another bike ride. There is one downfall to these rides; because of Dad’s work schedule and school starting up soon, this was one of the last ones. We only have 2 or 3 more opportunities to ride, before the starting of school. So, I will have to work real hard on our next rides.
Now, if you remember at the beginning of the post, I told you that I was doing other things and that’s why I didn’t blog when I got home. Well, there’s this addicting game I found while I was in main. It’s called alter aeon. Here’s the link to there website so you can learn more:
http://www.alteraeon.com
Now if you are wondering, the time counter on that game says I’ve already been playing for 16 hours total, and I got the game last Thursday. Not to mencion the 2 days of travel and time with family causing me to set aside the computer and focus on other things. Also, another game, bokurano daiboukin, the game reviewed in episode 6 of my podcast (visit the my podcast page for the episode), has become rather addicting. I have spent 23 hours on that one. You could say I spend quite a bit of time on the computer. Also on the computer, I’ve been skyping friends, and playing a few games over the internet like pong, top speed (a racing game), and pallis punch up (see see this page for a little demo).

Other than that, I really can’t think of more to put on this post, so I’ll wrap it up as usual…
thanks for reading,
type you later,
Steve.
p.s.
regarding the thing I said earlier about the water in the ocean feeling real cold, here’s an intresting fact:
did you know that you can get hypothermia 250 times faster in the water than from cold air)?

your average blog update

Hello guys,
Steve here.

I am posting this update because:
1. I haven’t updated in a week and a day (I talked about what was going to happen with the podcast, but that doesn’t count, as it wasn’t a life update).
2. I’m bored.

My life hasn’t been bad the last week. There wasn’t much to say about it, but I guess I’ll tell you what I did those days:
Sunday of last week: nothing at all.
Monday: worked on my project, skyped friends, helped my mom bathe the dogs, and spin class as usual.
Tuesday: went swimming, and skyped friends.
Wednesday: pretty much the same as monday– working on my projects and skyping friends etc etc.
Thursday: I went on a bike ride with Dad, then did a whole lot of nothing.
Friday: Nothing much besides going to a pool party with my mom and dad and there friends, and skyping my friends.
Saturday: that was a lazy day–not much to it.
Today: I had to do some cleaning, learning more programming etc.

That about sums up my last several days. Now regarding what I said a second ago about the programming thing, that’s still going well. I am still in the dark about… non-technical people can just scroll down a bit…
arays, handles to functions and objects, along with http and internet functions.
Here we go non technical people, you can start reading again.
So yeah, as I said, learning the language has been going well. On another note, I should probably tell you about my near future plans. As we all know, I’m not a psychic, and don’t know what exactly will happen, but I’ll tell you what I do know:
Today, Tomorrow, and Tuesday and Wednesday, I honestly don’t know. Thursday, packing for broken bow(I’ll be going on vacation out there with my dad’s side of the family), and releasing the podcast episode 8. I don’t know, but there might be another person joining the cast (we’ll have to see).
Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, we’ll be at broken bow. I’ll have to blog monday when we are home, because I think we are coming home Sunday evening.
Basicly, I won’t have a lot of time to do anything, because monday we will be repacking and washing clothes, so we can go to Maine on tuesday. That will last another week, and we’ll come home on tuesday August 14, and spend the rest of summer getting ready for school and trying to fit in a few more fun things before the August 26 doomsday.

Well, I hope you enjoyed this little update, and I’ll hopefully post a sneak peek of my next podcast release when I get the arrangements and technical stuff that none of you guys have to mess with out of the way.

extremely import blog notice, and some not so extremely important stuff

Hello guys,
steve here.

As the title says, There is some extremely important stuff I must tell you.
File den is remaking there site completely in mid august. What does this mean for the blog?
Well, it means that none of the files will be available for a little bit, but me, being a really smart person, decided to back up the files on my computer so that I can upload them when the remaking process is over. Don’t stress now, the files are still available until mid august which is 3 podcasts away and about 50 days.
Other than that, I recently uploaded my podcast episode 6. Go get it at the podcasts page. Here is what I did:
1. I did a life update.
2. I did a weather update.
3. Devin reviewed the of the day, which is a japanese name so I can’t spell it.
I also released a review of super deekout. Go listen to the review here:
audio game reviews
Thanks!

Well, I am going to the lake house in 2 days, and I found out my other friend Devon could come. In fact, the phone call came in the middle of the super deekout review, so you will here my phone ringing, then I will come back and apologize for the interruption. I so can’t wait–and, I will bring my computer and blog about the experience. Well, I’ll blog when I get back home Saturday.

Well I better end this post because It doesn’t need to be too long–it was just meant for a quick news update, so…

updates and previews

Hey you guys,
Steve again.

I am back for another blog update. Unlike most other blog updates however, this is more about news and previews and less about life.
Since the life part is short, I’ll get that knocked out first.
This weekend was chill, there wasn’t much to talk about. I have found yet another addicting game from lighttechinteractive.com, called treasure mania. In this game, you are in a gulf, with fish, and chests of treasure. If I said that the game was as easy as sailing your boat over fish and treasure waisting pointless time collecting cheap and pointless points, I would be wrong. To catch a fish, you have to travel over to where the fish noise is coming from, and press the space bar to cast your net out and catch it. Treasure chests are not simple either. no, it has to be all complicated where you have to turn on your metal detecter, and find the loud beep, beep, beep noise and lower the hook and chain, lift it up, then you will get loads of points. It is a real cool game! Oh yeah, when you hit level 5, people from the island that leads to the gulf will get just a bit angry at you and try to shoot errows at your head. You have to press control key on the left side to duck. I’ve been playing non stop this morning.

Here is a preview of my podcast. I forgot to release it yesterday, and will do so today. I also need you to know that this is the last weekly podcast! All the rest of them will be released on the first and 21st of each month to conserve space. Here is how this cast will go.
1. I will give the weather forecast
2. I will talk a bit about life, but you can also read about it in May 24th’s post.
3. The game of the day will be superdeekout. Since it is a long game, I will play level 1. If you want a full review, it will come out this week on the audio game reviews page.
4. I will do a review of my stranded part 2 game.
This is a very full podcast, and will be 20 minutes tops.
It will come out after 2 this afternoon, but before 10 tonight.
I hope you enjoyed this post.
From now on, for convenience to want to be followers, I will put a follow blog button on all posts from now on!

news

Hey you guys,
Steve again.

Cold temps, milestones, broken records… wait, woe!!!

Yep, that is exactly how I’ve felt since the last blog post which occurred just short of 36 hours ago. Every since then, wave after wave of jaw dropping news has slammed into me. I better post the latest developments to you.

First of all, I reached another milestone yesterday morning at 9:37 AM, when the 50th follower joined the blog. Thanks 50th follower, because you’ve helped me hit a very important milestone in this blog!
So, now that we have the blog milestone taken care of, I will now talk about the weather.

The weather has been taking mad dips, twists, jumps, and bumps for the last 2 months. It is like we are riding a never ending wild roller coaster, one that leaves you wondering, “What’s next?”
It almost seems one day you are breaking out the hot coco and turning on the heater, while on the next you almost want to take a swim! I still have a feeling that a tornado outbreak is immenent, and tonight only further proves my theory.
Late tonight, a strong coldfront will move into our area, bringing tempratures from the 70’s before midnight to upper 40’s and lower 50’s by sunrise. After the coldfront moves through, scattered light rain, strong winds, and cloudy skies will take over our Thursday; and tempuratures will struggle to make it to 50 all day long!

Not only that, but Thursday night is the more interesting part. Winds will die down, skies will clear, and temperatures will drop into the upper 30’s early Friday morning. This is going to be the coldest it has ever been this late in the spring!!! Yes, you read right, the coldest ever this late in the season!
After that, highs will hit 60 Friday afternoon, which is still 20 degrees short of the average for this time of year, which happens to be 80.

As far as my comments go, I almost wonder if we are going to swim this summer, or ice scate. When will this weather go away? And, why is winter so hesitant on leaving?

Well, as far as life goes, not much has happened. We are doing a research project in social studies, and I got Michael Dell, the creator of the Dell computer. Of course, that does make me pretty happy; it adds some enjoyment to the research project.

As far as blog news goes, you should probably check the latest site news and updates page, because there are new developments and anouncements you must read.
Otherwise, have a great evening, and enjoy the rest of your week!

game news/blog update

Hey you guys,
Steve again.

You know the game book I’ve been ranting about? I have more exciting news for you. This game book has more adventure than I thought it would. Just in case you don’t know this about me, I love to get carried away on my work. That is why this happened:

• The island leader is Mickey Mouse, and don’t worry, in one of the up coming game book novels you will get to kill him.
• There is a turtle with a slingshot somewhere in the story.
• There is a dragon.
• There is a kitten that has a knife and gun.
• The people on the island worship Mickey Mouse, but you don’t.
• There are tones of portals
• There are some tricky hints.

Mind you, you won’t see all of these funny things, because when you leave the water (you will know what I’m talking about after playing the game), you have 3 choices. North, East, and West. Pick a branch, and ready yourself for adventure.

Here are some life updates now.

Guess what, I got Dragon Dictation on my iPod. I think it is really cool, because I don’t even have to type. Mind you, I can’t use it to type everything. Thus, I am still asking for an apple keyboard for my birthday next month.
On the other hand, I’ve chosen what I want to do for my birthday. The party is on the 23rd, and I can’t wait. My friends will be joining me for a shenanigans party, where I will do go carts, bowling, and other fun things like that. I so can’t wait for this event!
We are doing it on the 23rd because my parents have work on the day of my birthday, and the weekend after. So, that is the only time to celebrate my birthday. Plus, my birthday is a school day, and so we wouldn’t be able to do anything on that day anyway.
I have also picked out my dinner. That day, I want to go to Raising Cane’s, a place that sails chicken fingers. You know I am a sucker for those, and if you don’t just head on over to the about page.
With that being said, I think my birthday is going to be an epic day for me, my friends, and my family.

Thanks for reading this post,
Steve.

updates

Hey you guys,
Here are some updates that I will tell you about.

First of all, I am going smoothly with the Stranded gamebook. I have been working on it occasionally, but when I do things on it I usually do a lot. So, to say for myself, I’ve completed quite a bit. That doesn’t mean, however, that I’m even close to done. I want this gamebook to be very long, thus I shall release it in 3 parts. As you should know, I am only doing part 1 at the current moment, and will not begin working on any more parts until after March 3, when the book is scheduled for release.

For more good news, I have the right software and know how to create gamebooks the right way now. So, that means I will be able to create more, and add them to the game books page. Please stay in touch with it, along with the news page for updates, and also the blog.

Now, here are some life updates.

Nothing intresting has happened in the last 24 hours. To tell you the truth, nothing intresting will happen today. My plan is just to go to goalball at about 2:00, then go visit Dawn Adams, one of my old vision teachers. I will then hopefully come home and eat dinner, and hang out for the night.

Now that I’m done with this post, I’d like to think the 4 new followers I recieved this week, 3 of them joining in 1 day. I also got lots more likes. If it weren’t for you loyal ffans, I wouldn’t be as tempted to go on posting. I thank the people who follow, like, and comment on this blog. I couldn’t do it without you. Remember,
Keep reading, following, liking, commenting, and rating, and I will most certainly keep posting.

p.s
Don’t worry if I’m gone for a while. Don’t lose your faith in me, and know that I will always be back to do more blogging. Only realise I won’t ever blog again when I post that I am taking this blog down. Don’t worry, that isn’t happening any time soon.

how to create a linkhow to create a link out of html code

I have learned how to make a link using just html code. here is how its done.
note: when the code is in the perentheses, it isn’t how you put it. You will put all the code as it looks without any of my notes or extra things.
first, you type the (<) sign followed by an a.
Then, you space over and type (href) then, you follow that with (="link url")
Next, you will put the title after you space over. (title="link title")
You will always want to close an html tat as with a greater sign followed by a lessthan sign, a slash, and another grater
Below, I will have a link to the homepage that was crafted using this code
