Steve here.
I’m going to try and keep this post long. Let’s see if that actually works, and makes me keep it short–because after all, when I say I’ll keep it short, it ends up being long, so let’s see if this little trick of mine works.
Anyway, it’s now April 15, the day before the pole on whether or not this site should have a home page will close. So, if you’d like a say in the matter, tonight and tomorrow are your only chances–at 8:00 tomorrow night, or somewhere thereafter, the pole will no longer exist, and I’ll do what you guys decided.
So, since it’s the last day, I’ll put the pole on the post:

Moving on, let’s sstart off with the great podcast news. If you listened to the podcast episode 20, you know that I said I’d try and do an rss feed for the podcast. I’m not sure whether or not I mentioned this on a previous post… but who knows. Anyway, with that said, I stuck to my word… and we now have a podcast feed, which you can subscribe to by visiting the podcast page.
Moving on, my life has been pretty normal over the passed 5 days or so. On Friday and Saturday, not much happened, besides school and goal ball. Sunday, however, we went to church, then some friends from church came over and hung out and had lunch with us. Also on Sunday, Justin came over once again to visit.
Yesterday was a cold, windy, and blustery Monday. Speaking of Mondays, I didn’t write a Monday’s Musings entry because I didn’t have a topic once again, and by the time I got off of Skype with Danny, I’d already stayed up passed the time I prefer to go to bed on nights before I have to get up at 5:45 in the morning, so writing a lengthy blog post was out of the question.
As for today, it was the beginner orchestra festival I talked about in two of my most recent posts. As was expected, I missed most of school, then had a proceeding concert this evening. There were, literally, about a thousand people, so when I was done, I grabbed on to my dad, and him, my sister, and I had to make our way through the massive croud in order to get out of there. If you ask me, putting a thousand or more people in a gymnasium isn’t the most brilliant idea you could come up with, but I guess I didn’t really have a say in the matter. Other than the large abundance of people, the concert went quite well. I think, that I had all my bowings correct… but who knows. And if I didn’t, no matter.
Well I guess that about wraps up this post. Hmm, seems my trick worked. I guess that on any post I want to keep short from now on, I’ll put “I’m going to try and keep this post long,” and vice versa.
Well besides that, I hope you enjoyed this post. I’ll talk (and by that I mean make you guys improve your reading skills and vocabulary by reading another one of my posts:) to you all later.

Happy times and big stressers: a busy start to December

Steve here.
As I write this post, I’m pretty tired. I want nothing more than another break right about now, as I have quite a bit to do in the next few days. Also, There is some weather stuff I’m excited about, and I’ll tell you about that in this post.
As far as my life, it has been exciting but stressful as I said in the post title. Not much happened after my blog post on Sunday, nothing big anyway. I did however get to spend time with the family–baking cookies, and even decorating the Christmas tree. By the way, my 1 and a half year old cat Bell is already loving the fact that she can (or thinks she can) take down the ornaments and play with them… silly cat!
Getting back to my life, I’ve been busy the last day or so (Yesterday not so much, but today and tomorrow… I am). As for today, I had school, and my orchestra concert afterward, yet there is still more for me to do. I have to do a review for a popular radio show for the blind called Main Menu, where people submit reviews of software and hardware that can be made accessible for blind people. On my review, I will be doing my digital recorder and the software used to convert recordings and change settings on the recorder.
As for tomorrow, I pretty much have the day planned out. It will be school, studying for a test which I will tell you about later on in the post, starting my history day project, church, and doing episode 15 of the podcast, which will be the last one I have to make up. After episode 15, Devin can hopefully join me once again. Sounds like a busy couple of days, right?
As for the test, it’s for Spanish. The amount of nervousness I feel about that is comparable to how my mom feels about the half marathon she is going to run on Sunday. The reason for me being so nervous, is that if I fail, I will fail the semester, and end up having to take Spanish 1 again. I really don’t want this, so please cross your fingers, or pray for me.
Back on the subject of life, I have a choir concert coming up next Thirsday. That is also a day before my history project is due… I think. My NJHS hours are due next Wednesday; I only have 1… but I guess if I get kicked out it will be one less stresser laid upon my life, and what did NJHS really do for me anyway?
At the beginning of this post, I briefly mentioned some exciting weather stuff going to happen. Coming up on Friday into Sunday, there is expected to be a possible winter weather event. I am not too optimistic about this; considering the wrip off I got last week. None the less, I will record and post weather updates starting tomorrow morning, and going through most likely Saturday or Sunday, so stay in tune to the weather radio forecasts page, as that will be the page where all the weather updates will go like last time.

How did you like that blog post title? I hope you liked it a lot.
As my post said, I discovered an extremely awesome thing about my computer. It’s called windows speech recognition macros. Skipping all the techie stuff that is libel to turn non-techie followers and readers away from my blog, I’ll just tell you what the thing does in English terms.
Well, as you know, speech recognition itself will let you control your computer with your voice. Speech recognition macros is a way to enhance speech recognition so that you can make custom commands and use them to your liking. For example, I made my computer have a conversation with me, and best of all I recorded it. You can listen to it… non-techie people; there is no tech talk in this recording. So, here you go:

Now, switching topics, Let me tell you about my recent life happenings.
On Sunday, I had church. It was your average Sunday school, and service. Except one thing: we were like the “old people class at Sunday school” as quoted by some one at the church. Here we were, a whole bunch of teenagers chilling and drinking coffee.
Besides that, I also got my robot reference manual finished on Sunday, and Libby’s 5 friends left (In case I didn’t mention it in Saturday’s post my sister had friends over for a slumber party; it being her birthday weekend and all).
I didn’t do much else on Sunday, besides crashing for a bit, and Just hanging out really.
Yesterday, was when I found out that my computer could talk back to me. I went from not even knowing it could talk back to me (barely even knowing about speech recognition) at 9 in the morning to having sophisticated conversations with the machine. Please lord, whatever you do, don’t let me be the weird dude sitting in his office and having 5 hour long conversations with his computer about how the registry was acting up or how mad he got when his cat bit him or something. 🙂
So yeah, that is what I was doing on my free time Yesterday. I also had to get a hair cut, and a nice refreshing bottle of chocolate milk, but you know that’s a little beside the point.
As far as today goes, it was yet another school day. There was nothing much to talk about today.
Tomorrow, we’re supposed to get lots and lots of awesome rain. I can’t wait for that. Not only because we need that rain, but also because I like the sounds of rain. Here’s a little catchy poem I wrote about the forecast:
The forecast calls for rain,
this should help you grow your grain.
Rain is good for my brain,
though not for traveling by plain.
I like the pattering against my window pain,
but the dreary days drive me insane

Moving on, my mom’s cousin is coming to visit on Thursday, and I believe she’s staying for the weekend. We’re having a family get together on Sunday, partly because Libby’s birthday and the fact that my mom’s cousin will be here.
Also, I still have that upcoming orchestra concert, which my sister and dad will be missing because they’re flying to Florida for a goal ball tournament. Unlike mine, she gets to miss 2 or 3 days of school. Erg… why is she so lucky!
Although I kind of have to admit I’d rather go to school and get to attend my orchestra concert than miss two days and fail such an easy class.

how my day went
today, I got up and went to school like normal. Then, I came home, did my homework, ate dinner, played on the computer, then got ready and went to my choir consert. Then, I came home, and played on the computer. Then, I showered and got on the blog. That is all I did today
