astonishing monthly wrap up plus life update

Hey guys,
steve again.

May 2013 has been the best month by far for views. In this post, I am going to tell you about that, a true prediction, and some life updates. Please enjoy.

Starting with the blog, I am going to tell you some stats I’ve collected as of this morning at 9:20 AM.
First of all, try and take a guess about how many views there were this month alone. This little 31 day period!

If you guessed it right, you are a real lucky person and should go and try for the lottery. The number of views for this month, was 511! Also, there is an average of 17 views per day this month, by far the highest ever seen on the blog. I also recieved 15 followers since April 21. I think the third year has started with a bang! So, keep viewing and showing your loyalty, and I will certainly keep posting.

Now, here is the prediction that came true. If you click the link below, it will take you to the blog post I made in april predicting a tornado outbreak soon because of the temperature jumps.
post where I discuss my hunch about a tornado outbreak coming, and the next few links lead to tornado news about an outbreak that hit.
Also, the post I just linked to about the prediction was April 15, and the outbreak occured on May 15! What in the world?!
Here are the posts:

post 3

There are more posts about that from may 16.

–Life–

On the life note, Things have been running smoothely. On Tuesday night, me and my mom ordered a battery for my personal computer, and while we were on the site we saw an ac adapter for $9.69. I bought the current charger I have for $64, however if we’d just looked on amazon, we could’ve got both the battery and ac adapter for $37.58. I am okay with the charger I have, since it can charge multiple computers and it works fine.
On another note, school is almost out. I remember May 10’s post, blognews and updates or something like that, where I talked about school being 27 days from being over. Now, there are 6 days. Today is the last friday of the whole entire school year, and I bet in 168 hours I will have just gotten up on my first day of Summer vacation. I can’t wait!
Besides that, me, my family, and cat have been doing pretty good. I remember telling you about swamp, the first person shooter I’ve grown addicted to. In fact, the game says I’ve put in over 13 hours and 29 minutes, and I have only had the game for 3 days. Woe… I need to focus more on stranded part 2 then that game. I PROMICE I will work on it this weekend, and like I said before have it on the sight on the 8th. Don’t worry, you will love this game! I will make sure of it!!!

–future life–

I am glad to tell you another thing about the upcoming weekend (besides working on stranded). It is supposed to storm again! I mean large hail, damaging winds, lightning, and heavy rain! So do you know what that means? That means I will hopefully be able to treat you with another storm recording! Also remember that you can visit the natural event recordings page fore a bunch of recordings like the one I want to make tomorrow. It has Wednesday night’s storm, easter storm, plus several tracks I’ve made to sound like awesome storms!

Since I’ve got us going on the future, I must say we won’t be doing a whole bunch of work at school. Monday is the last full school day, Tuesday is an all day tiger bash thing where we’ll get to hang out, socialise, play games and stuff like that. Wednesday we get out at 12:15, and as well as Thursday. Thursday when we get out at 12:15, we have an 80 day (11 week 3 day) break to look forward to. I can’t wait for that!

Well, as a wrap up, I have enjoyed talking to you on this rather long and information filled post. I also would like to thank the 15 new followers this month and late last month, and the people who got the blog 511 views this month alone. You guys enspire me to keep posting and building this site, and me and you visiters worked as a team to get the site as far is it is today–and I’m sure it will keep getting bigger in the future!

Thanks for reading,
Type you later,
Steve.

some more blog news, a last bit of news on the tornadoes from may 15, and a thunderstorm

Hey you guys,
Steve again.

I have several things to tell you, as seen in the post title. First of all, tornado news.
I origionally thought there were 16 tornadoes in the may 15 tornado outbreak. Well, at first I thought 10, then 12, then 16, and now the media is officially saying 18. I wonder if that’s the last they’ll say about the tornados, but if it isn’t I will keep updating you.
Second, now that we are in the weather speret, I will give you a recording I made last night, May 29, 2013 at 6:57 PM as a thunderstorm that nearly completely darkend the skies and prodused massive claps of thunder, and at one point in the recording it almost sounds like tiny pieces of hail hitting the window I was near. Listen below or download:
download and listen on your computer

Lastly, some more game news.

I have gotten caried away once again on Stranded part 2, and it is going to be longer then I expected. Thus, I will need 5 extra days to work on it due to school, chores, games, and all that stuff. I will try and take out a lot of the gaming time and focus more on the game; and I will make sure it is long and worth wile.

Hope you enjoyed this post!

updates and previews

Hey you guys,
Steve again.

I am back for another blog update. Unlike most other blog updates however, this is more about news and previews and less about life.
Since the life part is short, I’ll get that knocked out first.
This weekend was chill, there wasn’t much to talk about. I have found yet another addicting game from lighttechinteractive.com, called treasure mania. In this game, you are in a gulf, with fish, and chests of treasure. If I said that the game was as easy as sailing your boat over fish and treasure waisting pointless time collecting cheap and pointless points, I would be wrong. To catch a fish, you have to travel over to where the fish noise is coming from, and press the space bar to cast your net out and catch it. Treasure chests are not simple either. no, it has to be all complicated where you have to turn on your metal detecter, and find the loud beep, beep, beep noise and lower the hook and chain, lift it up, then you will get loads of points. It is a real cool game! Oh yeah, when you hit level 5, people from the island that leads to the gulf will get just a bit angry at you and try to shoot errows at your head. You have to press control key on the left side to duck. I’ve been playing non stop this morning.

Here is a preview of my podcast. I forgot to release it yesterday, and will do so today. I also need you to know that this is the last weekly podcast! All the rest of them will be released on the first and 21st of each month to conserve space. Here is how this cast will go.
1. I will give the weather forecast
2. I will talk a bit about life, but you can also read about it in May 24th’s post.
3. The game of the day will be superdeekout. Since it is a long game, I will play level 1. If you want a full review, it will come out this week on the audio game reviews page.
4. I will do a review of my stranded part 2 game.
This is a very full podcast, and will be 20 minutes tops.
It will come out after 2 this afternoon, but before 10 tonight.
I hope you enjoyed this post.
From now on, for convenience to want to be followers, I will put a follow blog button on all posts from now on!

Tornado outbreak news from last week, blog update, probably the biggest post ever posted on this blog!

Hey you guys,
Stevers geevers here on this Friday night.

For the first part of this post, I’m gonna tell you about some new information about May 15, 2013 tornado outbreak that I learned. Then, I will tell you about the Oklahoma tornado outbreak, followed by my life and what happened to our weather on Tuesday.

  • There were actually 16 tornadoes
  • it was grandbarie and not grand prairie hit (I get the cities mixed up)
  • it is official that 6 people died

Oh yeah, speaking of tornadoes, there was an outbreak in Oklahoma. Here is what I learned.

  • there were 24 dead and 10 were children in the Moore tornado
  • the tornado was an ef 5 that stayed on the ground for 40 minutes
  • On sunday, there was a tornado that hit while the sun was out!

Now that we have that out of the way, let me tell you about my life.
The early part of the week was the part of the week with the most excitement. Monday, was the orchestra consert. It last 2 hours, so we didn’t get home until about 9:30. Also, there were no tornadoes on Monday where I live, because of a cap in place. A town called Blanket was hit just before 6:00 that night. The next day I spent half of feeling strong anticipation of dangerous weather. I woke up and listened to the weather radio, hering this hazardous weather outlook:

scattered to numerous thunderstorms are expected across north texas today and tonight. Large hail, damaging wind, and cloud to ground lightning are the main threats.
The tornado threat will increase as the day goes on with strong long track tornadoes a possibility.

I was pretty nervous after hearing that and deciding I couldn’t sleep, went downstairs. After getting downstairs, I sat in amazement as my cat ran meowing after a huge bug (I can’t see, but could hear loud deep buzzing 2 feet from me and meows and scuffling cat feet). The chase went on from about 6:35 a.m to exactly 6:42 AM, when Bell, the bug killing cat pounced. There was one final buzz from the nasty thing, before it was knocked into the wall and bell ran into the living room.
Later that day, I found out that bug was a wasp. Lucky thing I didn’t go into the kitchen to get a drink or get my cat. It is also lucky that the wasp, once landing a foot from me, didn’t notice my fingers typing on my computer or my occasional shifts and stretches, or I was bound to get stung in the foot, face, or arms. Also, I touched it while the legs were barely moving, and put my foot on it around that same time. And, the stinger was pointing up, so I’m surprised I didn’t hit that when I felt it.
As a last note about the bug, I got a good feel of it after my mom told me it was harmless. This was only the second time I’ve ever touched one of these full on that it didn’t sting me. The first time I was 6 or 7. The stinger was stiff, and bent forward, as if it were ready to hurt somebody before it died. The stinger was about 1 and 1/2 inches. The rest of the wasp itself was pretty big, the legs folded into its body; facing up and laying on its back. Not to mencion, last week I touched a nest that my dad knocked down. What wasp related object will I touch next week?

Now, moving on, let’s talk about the rest of my scary but good day.
After the bug attack and breakfast, I got ready, went to school, and spent a good portion of the day scared out of the mind. Honestly, why did there have to be 2 tornado drills on the morning of a potentially tornadic day? I was already scared and when we had the drills, it made me a little more edgey.
It actually ended up, we didn’t get tornadoes. Just before the end of math when storms began moving in, I learned that we dodged the tornado threat. All we got that afternoon was severe flash flooding and heavy wind, resulting in me not leaving school until 4. I got to hang out with friends in 7th period for 35 minutes after finishing my work, and that was pretty cool. Also, I told the forecast to let people know there was no more tornado threat, and got the whole class scilent with my forecast, followed by a class wide applause at my freakishly awesome forecasting skill. Turns out, I was right on! Nothing but heavy rain.
There was one point when the street lights came on however, and that’s when the class freeked out. I, knowing the weather situation fully and completely, was one of the 5 people not freeking out. The only thing I was worried about at that minute was my computer dieing, because my charger was tangled up with 3 other cords and I was quickly trying to untangle them.
After the storm excitement ended and I was home, the day went normally.
Wednesday, Thursday, and today weren’t too exciting. Wednesday, I did attend a dessert party after school in 7th period. What the heck, 2 days in a row where I’ve spent quality time with good ol’ miss Seltzer.

I hope you enjoyed this blog post. Also, I have to welcome our latest follower, who sent the totle up to 56!
And, I have received over 100 views in the passed 7 days; keep viewing, and I’ll keep posting!

blog update and weather news

Hey you guys,
steve again.

In this post, I have a couple things to tell you about. 1, is my life. The second is about the severe weather headed this way. Please keep reading!

So, I will start off on the more frightening note, so I can end the post with a little less excitement and more calm.
So, It appears severe weather will move into the area I live in once again. Furthermore, there is the potential for issolated tornadoes, hail, and damaging winds yet again. This is also possible tomorrow afternoon! If these turn into tornado outbreaks (I don’t think they will but then again No one thought it would happen last week but it did), this will be 3 tornado outbreaks within 8 days! Check back often, because I will be doing severe weather updates as the forecast changes.

Life–

So, things have been going good. Last night, I released my second episode of the steven d podcast, so you should listen to it. Here is what I did on the 4 days:
Friday was a normal friday. There wasn’t much to talk about.
Saturday was the goalball fundraiser. That went well, except the only fun part for me was the goalball game. I scored goals all but 1 throw!
Yesterday, I did absolutely nothing productive, besides posting the podcast and an audio game review.

There is a game I have become adicted to, it’s called Castaways. This is where you build a settlement, feed your population and find your way off an island you’ve become stranded on after a large storm. In order to leave the island, you must rely on resources of the island to build a ship.I haven’t done this yet, every time I tried my population died of starvation. I will keep on trying though.

If you’re wondering about this week, the only thing I have planned is to go to Libby’s orchestra consert. And, did I ever tell you I made it into orchestra for next year?

life update plus more intresting tornado news

Hey you guys,
Steverino is back with some crazy stuff about the tornadoes that slapped north texas in the face quite unexpectedly yesterday.

So, I have learned more information regarding the tornadoes of last night while watching the news. Here are a list of facts below:

  • the tornado that hit grand prairie was an ef 4, which means on the fugeta scale that the winds were between 166 and 200 miles per hour
  • there were exactly 12 tornadoes, the same number that struck on April 3, 2012
  • I’m not sure, however I think I heard that 6 or 7 people are still unaccounted for
  • there was a gas leek caused by the tornado
  • hail fell up to the size of grape fruits
  • the tornado which hit Cleburne was an ef 1
  • one of the tornados left a mile wide path of distruction

Now, think about all that! That is what I learned about these tornadoes in the last 4 hours! What in the world!

Also, Steverino isn’t just here to tell you about the tornadoes, there is also some cool life updates to talk about.

So, like I said in the line above, I want to give you a life update.
So, I see that the river raders review was quite a success as far as the recording job goes. This means I will have to review topspeed3, the racing game I play. I will also do the review of Super Deekout, deekout, super liam, and q9 soon. I look forward to that!

As far as the near passed has gone, last night was pretty scary. You know the tornadoes hit, and judging by the weather interested personality I have presented to you on this blog you know I’ve monitored those tornadoes.
Since I spent 3 or 4 hours watching the news and listening to the radio last night, I had 3 or 4 hours of edgie fear and being on high alert. I can say, that my cat was there all the time, trying to take my mind off of things. Every time I sat on the couch, so did he. When I sat on the love seat, he had to join. When I would lay in bed, my feet would be submerged in fluffy cat fur. I actually thought it was pretty funny, like he was trying to be my guardian cat or something.
Okay, maybe I didn’t origionally think that, it was my mom.

So, back to the storms, I didn’t get to sleep until 1:00 A.M because of those things. Thus, I over slept this morning, consequently missing breakfast, only getting coffee.

Other then that, the day has been good. Long, tiring, dragging, but good none the less.

Thanks for reading,
type you later,
Steve.

P.S.
My hopes and wishes go to the grand prairie and Cleburne residents who were hit by the tornadoes.

tornado outbreak

Hey you guys,
Steve again.

Last night, May 15, 2013 brought huge tornadoes to north texas between the hours of 6 P.M and 1 A.M this morning. In total, there were at least 10 tornadoes. The number of confirmed deaths is 6, with at least a hundred enjured. The largest tornado I believe happened in Johnson county around Clebern, however it could’ve been in grand prerry. All I know, is that there was a mile wide tornado some where south and west of Dallas, and that it flattened homes, caused fatalities, and left many people enjured and/or homeless.

This is the largest tornado outbreak we’ve seen in 1 year, 1 month, 6 days, 2 or 3 hours, and about 30 minutes. In fact, you can read about my last tornado outbreak experience by clicking this link to take you to the april 3rd, 2012 page. In that tornado outbreak, there were a total of 17 tornadoes, and at 2:01 P.M, a tornado emergency was declaired for Dallas county. This was the tornado outbreak that hit laincaster and arlington pretty hard, and a tornado came over my school, later wiping out one of those speedy oil change places.

As far as Dallas county went with this tornado outbreak, we only had one warning, but the circulation weakened as it pushed over my area. Sirens did sound in downtown dallas, (a live fox four reporter saw and heard the storm, and broadcasted it over the 10:00 news).

So, to sum things up, last night was a pretty major tornado outbreak across the western counties, and the western half of the metroplex, along with the southwest portion of the metroplex.

Podcast fixed, first official audio game tutorial released, and life update

Hey you guys,
Steve again.

As you probably know, I released my first podcast Sunday night. Unfortunately, only users of windows can open ZIP folders, plus the one with the podcast was corrupt or invalid. Thus, I have uploaded the mp3 file on the podcasts page, and included the show notes at the bottom of the podcast description. Now, you can either download the mp3 file, or listen to it in the imbedded player on the site. Now how cool is that?
Also, I have released my first audio game tutorial. It’s about 15 minutes long, and is completely detailed and gets to all the main points. You can obtain your copy by downloading the tutorial, or listen to it in its little web player at the audio game reviews and demoes page

Now, let me tell you about my life the passed few days.
On Saturday, my mom had a gladiator run, and she had to run and army craw through a whole bunch of mud. I still think she did great, though she was a muddy drenched bundle of joy after the race. After that run, we had the rize adventure thingy which wasn’t as fun as I thought it would be, because we only were there for about an hour.
Though sunday was just a relaxed chill mothers’ day (my mom enjoyed it), Monday was back to school. It was normal (school, spin class, and homework), and so was today. I’m still glad about the podcast thing, and that I released the first river raders tutorial (based on my research).

So, hope you enjoy the audio I posted, and have a great day!

Blognews and update

Hey you guys,
Steve again.

I have some important stuff to talk about in today’s post. There is some good news, and bad news.

First, the good news. I am going to be releasing this week’s adition of the steven D Podcast on Sunday (I thought it more reasonable to start the week with a new thing). This podcast will feature a talk about what’s to come on the blog, along with a preview of stranded part 1, the game of the day (bop it in this case), and a short quick update.
So, let me tell you how the podcast will always go.
Introduction, up coming and/or breaking news, game of the day, short blog update snippet, and then closing. SAlso, there will be a form to rate and comment on the podcast. The podcast recordings will be posted on the my podcast page, so check there every week for a new podcast. The podcast will be put in a zip archive so that I can also package them with the show notes file, which will include info concerning the game of the day, along with links mencioned in the podcast and also they might elaborate on the stuff mencioned.

Next, I have pushed the stranded part 2 release further back. Now, I have an actual date, so at least we can be happy about that. My date of release on this game is June 3, 2013 which happens to be a bit less than a month away. I will get the gamebook posted, andlink to it on the site. I can’t wait!

Now, last but not least, let me tell you about my life.
Life has been pretty good the last week. On Monday, me, my mom, and even my sister went to spin class. This was a first because usually on Monday nights my sister is studying for her AP test, but since it was her staar test day this did not occur. On Tuesday, I got caught outside in a little rainstorm In second period. Nothing really interested happened besides that on Tuesday.
Wednesday didn’t have much to offer either. It was quite boring as well.
Yesterday was a rainy warm day. Though it might’ve seemed to me that it would be cold, it was warm. All I can say however is that the weather made me fall asleep shortly after I got home.
Today is Friday. I love it when it is Friday, because I know that all I have to do is make it through one more day of school before the weekend arrives. This weekend I will be going to a Rize adventures (some company for people with disabilities) beginning of summer bash. Since I don’t know how it will turn out, I will blog Saturday night (or talk about it in the podcast on Sunday), and hopefully include pictures.
Other then that, I really don’t have much to say except that I am optimistic about the weekend ahead, and ready for school to be over. As of today, there are 27 days until June 6, the last day of school.
